The morning has gotten away from me. That usually happens when I sleep-in as I did today. I came downstairs around 9:30 brewed my coffee, got the papers, took my time reading them then did the crosswords puzzles, the knowledge questions and the cryptogram. I definitely dawdled, and I think that’s what I’ll be doing today. It feels right somehow; however, I will do a wash and finally get to my Christmas cards. They’ve been on the table in front of me for a few days. I might even make a dump run, but I won’t get dressed. My flannel cozies, my sweatshirt and slippers will just have to do. Really, who is there to impress at the dump?
Yesterday my canned food cabinets got cleaned. Roseana, my cleaning lady, did them. I casually mentioned that if she ever gets the time, the cabinet could use a bit of culling. Roseana loves to organize so she was off and running. When she’d find an expired can, she’d announced it to Lee, her husband, and me. In the way back she hit the mother lode. One can had a 2008 expiration date and it was crowned the winner. A 2009 was the runner-up. Roseana then organized what was left, and I made a shopping list of what I need to replace, things like cornstarch, baking soda and unsweetened cocoa. Lee carried the heavy bags to his car as I would never have been able to hoist them into the containers at the dump. Roseana now has her eye on the cabinet with pots and pans and who knows what else. It will be like an archeological dig. Myย apple peeler corer is lost somewhere in that cabinet, and I’m hoping it will be unearthed.
The wreath on the gate has battery lights so I have to turn then off before I go to bed, and last night was so cold Iย could see my breath. It was 33ห.

One of the big issues at KTCC (no im6 NOT Rod’s crappy new Christmas CD), has been Gracie’s dump day. An inconsisent schedule oscillating between Friday and Saturday has caused all sorts of problems. BUT…I have the solution and here it is.

That is totally amazing, and I will not show it to Gracie. She would be the first canine cited for speeding: I just know it!
You are right about poor Gracie’s schedule. She is just so upset that she is sleeping on the couch and snoring, loudly!!

Maggie drove me to work this morning. A few problems with traffic lights on Telegraph but thats ok.
Tomorrow, I wont have to take her on her customary cruise, I will just toss her the keys and tell her to be back in 30 minutes

Maggie mostly has problems with reversing, she doesnt have the theory of the rear view camera and display. Being a Westie she is not the tallest driver on the road.

Remember Katmah, this is just a response to your sudden inconsistency on your dump run for Gracie. There were problems when you started this and now there is a solution.
You might want to consider what CDs are in the player when she takes off …there could be certain “problem artists”. (and no im6 DO NOT suggest The Boxer was Simon and Carbunkle would be appropriate)

How funny! I love how serious the reporter is. A U.S. reporter would have screamed and laughed and turned the story into a loud circus. It’s much funnier when you pretend it’s not completely absurd. Gotta share this one. Thanks for the heads-up, MDH.l

Roseanna would love my kitchen, well my entire home actually ๐ I actually was rather organized in the beginning but that died out rather quickly I’m afraid ๐
I still have some cards left to send, the ones never leaving Sweden and I’ll do them tomorrow. I think I’ll bring up my little spruce from the cool cellar as well, it smells wonderful down there and I want that smell here in my cottage as well ๐

Sarcasm aside, 33ห is cold compared to the warm weather we’d been having. You live almost in the land of tundra so I’d expect it to be cold and snowy.
Roseana would attack all of your cabinets, and you’d be surprised at how neat they can be. I am at mine. I’d but something new and out it in the front. The old stuff would go further and further into the back of the cabinet.
I brought up my box of addresses so I am on the road to doing the cards! I’ll have to buy stamps but I want to finish them first

When I cleared out my mother’s pantry 3 years ago, I threw out all the canned and dry packaged foods. There were web worms in most of the dry stuff so, to be safe, I chucked it all. Even the sugar and the salt. I haven’t gotten around to gutting that room yet but it’s on the list.
I woke up to grey skies but the sun is brightening it a bit now. It’s not warming it any though.
I’m goofing off today, too.

We did the same at my mother’s house. It must be hereditary as my cabinet had been in dire need of a good cleaning. I also threw out the sugar; it was so hard it could have been used as a weapon.
