Miss Gracie

The vet called and, sighing with relief here, he found no masses. Her, I forget which, gland is slightly enlarged, but he said it doesn’t pose a problem. The vet suggested she see a cardiologist and a neurologist.

Gracie has come home with three new medications. One is an appetite stimulant, another is for dizziness and the third for indigestion. She just ate some deli turkey, Boar’s Head of course. I’m hoping she’ll eat the chicken now being poached.

She is sleeping on the couch, not at all restless.

Oh, Kat, what excellent news! I was behind on my reading, saw the earlier quote, and thought the worst had happened. I’m so glad that wasn’t the case. C’mon, Gracie! You can do it!

      sprite,
I thought the same thing. Every vet said what an old boxer she is, and that sounded like some sort of a warning. I have chicken cooking for her in hopes she’ll eat. I was really scared of losing her.

      Gnu,
No one better than the Fonz.

This was such a great program until it “jumped the shark.”

    Kat,
Thanks for the update on Gracie. I’m thrilled. Will the two of you be having dinner tonight together? Cheers to both of you. Pat her for me when she wakes from her nap.

      Lori,
Gracie ate half a can of dog food and a large poached chicken breast. She also had a couple of dog treats. She is getting her appetite back!

      She loved her pat.

      Love,
      Kat and the kids

Sounds like the appetite pills worked. That’s one med I don’t need.
Do the thunderstorms scare Gracie? Lisa’s dog is afraid of loud noises, especially thunder. We’re having storms move through right now.

      Bill,
Gracie sleeps right through thunder. Shauna, another boxer of mine, shook the whole time.

I’m with you in not needing the stimulate for my appetite.

    Hi Kat,
I missed the earlier post and only saw this one. It’s great to have the good news first in this instance.
Looks like the appetite stimulants have worked, too. Poached chicken and a half can of dog food. And Boars Head deli turkey. She’s eating very well.
Sadly, I don’t need appetite stimulants, either.

Hope all goes well with cardiology and neurology, too.
    Enjoy the day.

      Hi Caryn,
Thi has been quite the week for Gracie. She has been to the emergency vets 4 times in that last week. They have been great in keeping the bill low. It was over $600 for just these last three days. I need to save a bit of money for the specialists. They do keep saying she’s an old boxer bracing me I think for bad news at some time.

She has always eaten well with the cans of food and bags of treats all made by Merrick.

      Thanks for hope!

      Kat
