The Crescent Cinema Leatherhead was such a treat. It was very typical for a neighbor (respectfully know as Uncle or Auntie) to include me in a trip to a matinee.
Once in a very great while there would be a family trip to see the A movie And the B movie. Sometimes the movie would be long enough that there would be an interval, Beckett?, and the outside chance of an ice cream
We always sat in the balcony, might have been a “class” thing.

MDH,
My movie theater kept the balcony closed unless the owner had no choice because of the crowd. Missiles from the balcony were almost nonstop. I remember getting hit with JuJu Beads, perfect projectiles.
We had cartoons, a chapter from some serial and the main movie. No adults would dare to sit in on a matinee.
That’s a great name for a cinema.

Where did you get that picture of me in my cowboy outfit when I was six? I think every little boy of our generation had a cowboy outfit, with a pair of cap pistols and a ten gallon hat.

You gave me a laugh!
My friend still has his Hoppy spurs from his cowboy outfit when he was a kid. Yup, lots of cowboys when I was young.
